881 Degrees Awarded in Convocation-2023 at Modi College Patiala

Multani Mal Modi College today organized Convocation-2023 for distribution of Post-graduate and graduate degrees. The convocation was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Karamjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala. Dr. Gurpeet Singh Lehal, Prof. and Dean, College Development Council, Punjabi University, Patiala presided over the evening session of the convocation. The members of the management Committee of the college Prof. Surindra Lal and Colonel Karminder Singh also graced the occasion. The convocation was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana and Shabad Gayan. Guard of honour was presented to the Chief Guest and other guests by the NCC wings of the college.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar ji welcomed the chief guest and new graduates and presented a brief report about the achievements and international recognition of the college in the fields of academics, sports, extra-curriculum and other activities. He said that Modi college is not only imparting world class educational facilities to its students but also committed to develop them as future nation builders and socially conscious citizens.
In his convocation address the chief guest Dr. Karamjit Singh congratulated the new graduates and Post-graduates and said that we are living in an era of complex technical innovations and intelligent machines. He told that AI and robots are rapidly replacing the human capital but there is no substitute of human brain and humane values. He motivated the students to ‘think out of the box’ in their respective fields and to use their knowledge and learning for building a better world and for bringing social change.
In the evening session Dr. Gurpreet Singh Lehal while addressing the students said that in this era of fourth industrial revolution, we must focus on developing our skills and expertise in Computer based knowledge production. He motivated the students to focus their potential and energies towards reconstructing a more humane and democratic society. He congratulated the newly graduates and said that they should become job creators instead of job seeker He said that good education is capable of transforming millions of lives and it is our responsibility to dedicate our knowledge and skills for our society.
Prof. Surindra Lal and Colonel Karminder Singh, Members of management Committee also congratulated the fresh graduates and asked them to dedicate their knowledge and skills for betterment of society.
Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Registrar and Dr. Ajit Kumar, Controller of Examination of the college informed that for the session 2021-22, 881 graduates and post- graduate degrees were conferred in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, Management and Computer Sciences.
Vice Principal of the college Prof. Jasvir Kaur and Deans of various faculties Dr. Gurdeep Sing Sandhu, Prof. Neena Sareen (Commerce), Dr. Ashwani Sharma (Life Sciences), Dr. Rajeev Sharma (Physical Sciences) and Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Head, (Business and Management) and Prof.Vinay Garg, Head (Computer Science) presented the students for the award of degrees.
The Chief Guest was felicitated by Prof. Surindra Lal honourable member of the Modi Education Society, Paitala and Principal of the college Dr. Khushvinder Kumar.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh and Dr. Rajeev Sharma presented the vote of thanks. Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Bhanvi Wadhawan and Prof. Vaneet Kaur conducted the stage.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ 2023 ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. (ਡਾ.) ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ, ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਟੇਟ ਉਪਨ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ.(ਡਾ.) ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਹਿਲ, ਡੀਨ, ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕੌਂਸਲ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸ਼ੈਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਮੈਨਜਮੈਂਟ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰਾ ਲਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਕਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ।ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਸਰਸਵਤੀ ਵੰਦਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗਾਇਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੰਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਰਡ ਆਫ਼ ਆਨਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ, ਖੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ-ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ. ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਗੁੰਝਲਦਾਰ ਵਰਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਵਿਕਿਸਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਮਸ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਰੋਬੇਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੀਕ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਕੇ ਸੋਚਣ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਰਜ-ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚਤਮ ਟੀਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਚੁਨੌਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਸ਼ੈਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਹਿਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਚੌਥੀ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਗਿਆਨ-ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋੜੀਂਦਾ ਹੁਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਤੇ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕਰਨ।
ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ 2021-22 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਆਰਟਸ, ਕਾਮਰਸ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ (ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ) 881 ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ-ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ.ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ (ਡੀਨ, ਕਾਮਰਸ) ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ) ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਡੀਨ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਫਿਜ਼ੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼), ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼) ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ.ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ (ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ) ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰਾ ਲਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਕਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਭਾਨਵੀ ਵਧਾਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਬਾਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਈ। ਕਨਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਮਤੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ।
